Name: Nu'uanu-Judd Trail
Length: 5 mile, round trip
Loop: partial (loop at the beginning)
Difficulty: Novice-Intermediate
Description:
Nice views of the Nu'uanu and Pali Valleys ending with the Ilanawai pool.
The pool has ropes that allow you to swing out to the middle and drop.
Note: We are going to repeat this great hike from February.
Directions:
Starting from Honolulu take the Pali heading Mauka (into the mountains.)
You will pass Queen Emma Summar Palace on the right.
Bear right on Nu'uanu Pali Dr.
As the road forks stay right (still on Nu'uanu Pali Dr.)
You will cross stone bridge over a stream.
You will pass Polihiwa Pl. and several houses on the left.
On the right you will see several concrete barriers just before a small bridge spanning a reservoir spillway.
We will meet just after this bridge.
If you get lost just ask one of the friendly locals for directions.

Name: Wahiawa Hills
Length: 5 miles
Loop: Yes
Difficulty: Intermediate
Description:
A hike through the Ko'olau foothills above Wahiawa. The hike features a nice
stream and a stream pool (suitable for swimming) at the end.
Directions:
(from town) Take H1 west (Ewa bound.)
Near Middle Street keep left on Route 78 west (exit 19B, Moanalua Rd.) to 'Aiea.
By Aloha Stadium bear right to rejoin H1 to Pearl City.
Take H2 freeway (exit 8A) heading toward Wahiawa.
Ext at Wahiawa (exit 8, Route 80 North)
Merge onto Kamehameha Hwy.
Cross Wilson Bridge and enter Wahiawa town.
At the third traffic light by Shell turn right on California Ave.
The road narrows to two lanes.
Pass Leilehua High School on the right.
The road jogs right and then left.
Drive to the end of California Ave. near two green water tanks.
We will meet here.

Name: Makiki-Tantalus Loop
Length: 8 mile
Loop: Yes
Difficulty: Novice-Intermediate
Description:
This hike features a wide variety of native plants, song birds, and some of the
best views on Oahu.
Directions:
(from Ala Moana shopping center) take Ke'eaumoku mauka (toward the mountains)
Turn right on Wilder Ave. just after the freeway.
Take the first left onto Makiki St.
After crossing Nehoa St. bear left on Makiki Heights Dr.
Enter the Makiki Forest Rec. Area.
Pass the Hawai'i Nature Center on the right.
Park in front of the gates. We will meet here.

Saturday, April 23
Name: Makapu'u Point
Length: 3 miles
Loop: Yes
Difficulty: Novice-Intermediate
Description:
A short scenic hike about the easternmost point of the island. From the ocean
views you can often see humpback whales.
Directions:
(from town) Take H1 east (Koko Head bound)
Continue on Kalaniana'ole Hwy
Pass Hanauma Bay
After the road swings left and begins to climb, look for a black gate across a
one-lane paved road on the right. Park near the gate (but don't block it.)
