Description:
A beautiful hike through the lush Waimano Valley ending with a cascading waterfall and two deep swimming pools.
Directions:
(from town) Take H1 west.
Near middle street keep left on Route 78 west (exit 19B, Moanalua Rd.) to 'Aiea.
By Aloha Stadium bear right to rejoin H1 to Pearl City.
Exit the freeway at exit 10, marked Pearl City-Waimalu
Turn right on Moanalua Rd. at the end of the off-ramp.
As Moanalua Rd. ends, turn right on Waimano Home Rd.
At the third traffic light and just before the road narrows to two lanes, turn left on Komo Mai Dr.
The road descends into Waimano Valley and then climbs the next ridge.
Drive through Pacific Palisades subdivision to the end of the road.
Park on the street just before the turn-around circle. We will meet here.

Name: Maunawili Falls
Length: 3 mile, round trip

Difficulty: Novice-Intermediate
Description:
Hike through a dense tropical rainforest ending in a spectacular pool fed by three waterfalls. Brave hikers can dive into the pool from 30 and 50 foot dive points (not required!) Others can take a dip in the pool. Warning: this is a great hike, but parts of the hike are a bit muddy. Come prepared.
Directions:
(from town) take the Pali Mauka (toward the mountains.)
Go through the twin tunnels.
At the first traffic light (Castle junction) continue straight on Kalaniana'ole Hwy (still Route 61)
At the third traffic light turn right on A'uloa Rd.
The road forks right away. Fork left onto Maunawili Rd.
Drive through the Mauna Wili subdivision.
The road will narrow and wind through a dense forested area.
At the end of Mauna Wili road turn right on Kelewina St.
Park on the street near the intersection. We will all meet at the intersection.

Name: Mount Olympus (Awaawaloa)
Length: 6 miles, round trip

Difficulty: Intermediate
Description:
Hike to the cloud shrouded top of Mount Olympus. The hike provides great views of Manoa and Palolo Valleys along with many interesting native plants.
Directions:
Starting from downtown, take H1 east to Wai'alae Ave.
Exit and go two lights up to the Chevron gas station. Turn left on St. Louis Dr. / St. Loius Heights.
A block before the road ends turn right on Peter St.
At the bus turn-around turn left on Ruth Pl.
You will enter the Wa'ahila Ridge Recreation Area.
We will meet at the parking lot at the end of the road.

Saturday, Feb 26
Name: Nu'uanu-Judd Trail
Length: 5 mile, round trip
Loop: partial (loop at the beginning)
Difficulty: Novice-Intermediate
Description:
Nice views of the Nu'uanu and Pali Valleys ending with the Ilanawai pool.
Directions:
Starting from Honolulu take the Pali heading Mauka (into the mountains.)
You will pass Queen Emma Summar Palace on the right.
Bear right on Nu'uanu Pali Dr.
As the road forks stay right (still on Nu'uanu Pali Dr.)
You will cross stone bridge over a stream.
You will pass Polihiwa Pl. and several houses on the left.
On the right you will see several concrete barriers just before a small bridge spanning a reservoir spillway.
We will meet just after this bridge.
